Overview of the 6.7L Power Stroke Engine 

Introduced in 2011, the Ford 6.7L Power Stroke engine is used in Super Duty trucks and is highly regarded for its superior performance and durability. Developed in conjunction with Austrian company AVL, this V8 diesel engine features a compacted graphite cast iron block and aluminum heads for strength and reduced weight. Output has increased significantly over the years, with the latest model delivering up to 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque.

Key Engine Features:

The 6.7L Power Stroke engine features a Bosch high-pressure common rail fuel system with up to five injections per cycle and support for B20 biodiesel. It also features advanced emissions control systems such as a diesel particulate filter (DPF), selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR).

1. Severe carbon deposits on the turbine, resulting in VGT failure (2011~2014) Fault code (DTC): P2263\P0299

Solution: Clean/replace the turbine; install CCV/PCV reroute kit, optimize the intake and exhaust system, and improve combustion efficiency

2. Bosch CP4.2 High-pressure oil pump wear causes blockage (2011~2020)

Solution: Modify and upgrade the fuel system filter kit

3. Turbine ceramic ball bearing (2011~2012)

Solution: Replace

4. EGR cooler carbon deposits (fault code DTC: P0401\P0402 insufficient exhaust gas recirculation flow)

Solution: Regular cleaning; Modify EGR delete kit

5. NOX sensor failure triggers "Limp Mode" to limit power output

Solution: Replace the sensor; Modify DPF delete kit

6. Manifold rupture (fault code DTC: P0420\P0430)

Solution: Replace OE/modified parts; it is recommended to match the modified UP-pipe

7. Intercooler pipe (cold side) aging and rupture
