The 6.4L Powerstroke engine produced by Ford was introduced for the 2008 model year and was produced until 2010. This was the engine with the shortest life cycle and the first generation of the Powerstroke to use a DPF. It was called the "worst Powerstroke" and eventually led to the end of Ford's partnership with Navistar.
Performance:
Despite its flaws, the 6.4 Powerstroke engine still had some strong components, such as a strong bedplate and high-flow factory connecting rods. The engine was able to output 350 horsepower from the factory, and its output could exceed 500 horsepower through aftermarket modifications.
