The camshaft position sensor is a sensing device, which is a cylinder discriminating and positioning device. Generally, the camshaft position sensor is located on the hood of the car next to the engine, above the camshaft gear timing cover. Therefore, the camshaft position sensor is also called the cam position sensor/CPS sensor, which is used to detect the speed of the camshaft and can play the role of acceleration and even deceleration. Common signs include checking whether the engine lights are on, whether the vehicle start, and whether the overall quality of the vehicle is degraded. It inputs the camshaft position signal to the ECU, which is the main control signal for ignition control.
