Designed for 2007.5–2010 Chevrolet Silverado / GMC Sierra 2500HD / 3500HD Pickup models, this SuncentAuto 6.6L Duramax LMM EGR Valve & Cooler Delete Kit removes the factory EGR valve and EGR cooler system, preventing soot-filled exhaust gas from re-entering the intake system.
It helps reduce EGR cooler leaks, clogging, carbon buildup, fault codes, and limp mode risks. Not compatible with Cab & Chassis models.
The EGR cooler faces high exhaust heat and coolant pressure. Repeated heat cycles can cause cracks, coolant loss, white smoke, coolant contamination, or even hydrolock that can damage the engine.
EGR exhaust contains soot and oil vapor. Over time, these contaminants form sludge inside the EGR valve, intake manifold, and intake passages, causing sluggish response, rough idle, CEL/DTC, and limp mode.
The LMM was the first Duramax engine equipped with a DPF. Repeated high-temperature regeneration adds heat load and can accelerate emissions system aging.
For towing, hauling, long-distance driving, or high-mileage trucks, EGR-related heat, soot, and fault codes can affect reliability, schedules, and operating efficiency.
| Component | Specification / Description |
|---|---|
| EGR Block-Off Plates | 6061 forged billet aluminum + stainless steel, CNC machined to seal the exhaust ports left after EGR valve and cooler removal. |
| Coolant Bypass Kit | Dedicated hoses and fittings reroute coolant flow after the EGR cooler is removed. |
| Gaskets & Hardware | Includes required sealing gaskets and mounting bolts for a complete installation. |
Estimated install time: About 2 hours
Recommended: ECU tuning to eliminate fault codes and optimize engine parameters. Pairing with DPF delete can provide a more complete emissions-system optimization setup.
| Comparison | Stock EGR | EGR Delete Kit |
|---|---|---|
| EGR Cooler Failure | ⚠️ High risk from heat cycles and coolant pressure | ✅ Cooler removed, coolant bypassed |
| EGR Valve Sticking | ⚠️ Carbon buildup can trigger CEL and drivability issues | ✅ EGR valve no longer participates in operation |
| Intake Carbon | ⚠️ Continuous soot and sludge buildup | ✅ Exhaust gas no longer enters the intake side |
| Heat Load | Hot exhaust gas enters the intake side | ✅ Pre-intake temperature may drop by about 20°C |
| Power Potential | Limited by emissions system | ✅ About 60–100 HP potential with tuning |
| MPG | Affected by EGR and regeneration cycles | ✅ Theoretical improvement of about 5% |
| Legal Status | Street legal | ⚠️ Off-road / track / competition use only |
It removes the factory EGR valve, EGR cooler, and related EGR routing components. The kit uses block-off plates, plugs, and coolant bypass parts to seal the system and reroute coolant flow.
A basic block-off plate may only seal the EGR valve port while leaving the cooler on the engine. This kit includes CNC-machined block-off plates and a coolant bypass kit, allowing the EGR cooler to be physically removed to reduce coolant ingestion risk.
No. This kit is designed for 2007.5–2010 Chevrolet Silverado / GMC Sierra 2500HD / 3500HD Pickup models and does not fit Cab & Chassis vehicles.
No. The ECM will continue to monitor EGR valve position and exhaust gas flow. Without ECU tuning, it will trigger CEL and may enter limp mode. Professional ECU tuning is required after deleting the EGR hardware.
It is not strictly required, but from a reliability perspective, it is generally recommended. Deleting EGR and DPF together with the same ECU tuning program can provide a more complete emissions-system optimization setup.
This product is intended for off-road, racing, or competition use only and is not legal for public road use or for vehicles subject to emissions regulations in the United States. Vehicles equipped with this product may fail emissions or state inspections.
