Custom-designed for 2015–2016 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 Super Duty models equipped with the 6.7L V8 Powerstroke diesel engine.
Permanently removes the factory high-failure-rate EGR system, blocks exhaust gas recirculation, and helps eliminate carbon buildup, clogging, and rough idling caused by EGR-related issues.
Reduces the pre-delete intake area temperature by up to 20°C and lowers overall engine bay temperature by up to 7°C, helping extend the service life of nearby wiring harnesses and sensors.
Made from 6061-T6 aerospace-grade billet aluminum and high-temperature stainless steel, with CNC precision machining and anodized surface treatment. Built to withstand extreme temperatures up to 1,472°F / 800°C.
The exhaust manifold block-off plate features a standard port for seamless compatibility with any aftermarket 1/8" NPT EGT probe.
This kit is specifically designed for 2015 and 2016 Ford F250 / F350 / F450 / F550 Super Duty equipped with the 6.7L V8 Powerstroke diesel engine. It physically removes the factory EGR valve and EGR cooler, blocking hot exhaust gases from re-entering the intake system — permanently resolving the widespread EGR system failures common to this generation of Powerstroke engines.
This kit removes two major factory weak points in one go:
The default configuration on this page is Normal Black, with Upgraded Black / Red also available. Both versions are designed for EGR valve and cooler removal on the 2015–2016 6.7L Powerstroke. The main differences are the plate construction and coolant flow design.
| Comparison | Normal | Upgraded |
|---|---|---|
| Core Construction | A solid block-off plate with external bypass hoses completing the coolant circuit | Coolant passages integrated into the block-off plate (or a dual-plate construction) |
| Coolant Routing | Bypass connections completed using the supplied hoses and fittings | Adds internal flow-through passages alongside the supplied coolant lines |
| Coolant Temperature Sensor Mount | No provision | Retains a mounting location for a coolant temperature sensor |
Which should you choose? Normal is the most cost-effective solution for physically removing the EGR system. Upgraded provides a more complete approach to coolant circulation and temperature management while removing the EGR system. If the vehicle frequently tows or operates under heavy loads, the coolant routing advantages of Upgraded deserve greater consideration.
Blocks exhaust gas from re-entering the intake, helping reduce carbon buildup in the intake manifold, EGR valve, and related piping.
Removes common 6.7L Powerstroke failure points, including sticking EGR valves, leaking EGR coolers, and clogged pipes.
Deletes the EGR cooler and reroutes coolant flow to reduce heat stress and support stable cooling system operation.
Cleaner airflow and fewer EGR restrictions help improve throttle response, engine breathing, and smoothness under load.
Built with CNC-machined 6061 aluminum block-off plates, stainless steel hardware, and high-temp reinforced rubber hoses.
Includes the coolant bypass hose, bracket, and fittings required for the 2015–2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke layout.
| Item | Factory EGR System | After KAX EGR Delete Kit |
|---|---|---|
| Intake Air Cleanliness | Mixed with soot-contaminated exhaust gas, causing carbon buildup | 100% fresh, clean intake air helps keep the intake tract cleaner |
| Pre-Delete Area Temp | High baseline temperature | Reduced by up to 20°C |
| Engine Bay Temp | High baseline temperature | Reduced by up to 7°C, helping slow heat aging of nearby wiring |
| Fuel Efficiency | Less complete combustion, relatively higher fuel use | Improved by up to 4.76% with noticeable MPG gains |
| Maintenance Cost | Cleaning every 30,000–50,000 miles plus costly replacements | EGR-related maintenance cost reduced to $0 |
Core sequence: Flash the tune → drain the coolant → remove the EGR hardware → install the block-off plates and rerouting components → bleed air from the cooling system → road-test.
ECU tuning is required; Mini Maxx V2, EZ Lynk, or equivalent tuning is needed. Once the EGR hardware is removed, the PCM will detect that the EGR system is missing. A compatible delete tune must be loaded beforehand; otherwise, the vehicle will trigger fault codes such as P0401/P040F and may even enter limp mode. Tuning preparation must therefore be completed before hardware removal rather than left until after installation.
Time planning: Allow approximately 3–5 hours for experienced installers or 4–6 hours for beginners. Tight clearance near the firewall and seized bolts are the main factors that add time, so the actual installation may take closer to the upper end of the range.
