✔ Complete 4-inch turbo-back replacement system: Replaces the complete exhaust assembly from the turbo outlet to the tailpipe. The bends maintain full pipe diameter to maximize exhaust flow and help unlock the engine’s performance potential.
✔ T-409 stainless steel throughout, with 2 mm wall thickness: Under normal off-road use, service life may reach 8–10 years. Compared with the factory aluminized exhaust, it offers greater heat resistance and resistance to aging.
✔ High-flow, straight-through muffler design: The interior has no obstructive baffles, helping maintain exhaust flow while filtering harsh noise and avoiding highway drone.
✔ Designed for installation at factory mounting points: Hangers and mounting locations follow the factory layout. The complete system includes all pipes, hanger brackets, and locking clamps. No cutting or welding is required; the system installs with aligned bolt-on connections.
✔ Addresses common DPF issues: Removes the factory DPF structure to address common issues such as DPF clogging, frequent regeneration, and warning lights, helping reduce long-term maintenance costs.
Will not fit Regular Cab or Cab & Chassis models
This product fits 2007.5–2009 Ram 2500/3500 6.7L Cummins diesel pickups. It is a complete 4-inch T-409 stainless steel turbo-back DPF-delete exhaust system with a built-in straight-through muffler, designed to combine high exhaust flow with a deep, controlled sound. It is built for off-road and racing applications. The complete system includes all pipes, hangers, clamps, and hardware, and directly replaces the factory exhaust assembly with a bolt-on installation.
⚠️ Important Notice: This product is for off-road and racing applications only and must not be used on public roads. Please comply with all applicable local laws and regulations.
Many enthusiasts are concerned that a straight-pipe version without a muffler may be too loud and cause excessive cabin drone during long drives. This muffler-equipped turbo-back exhaust system uses a high-flow muffler to reduce harsh high-frequency noise while reducing exhaust restriction.
Sound profile: A deep, full-bodied diesel rumble with enhanced turbo whistle. It avoids the harsh, excessively loud sound of a straight-pipe version and significantly reduces cabin drone during highway cruising. The exhaust note is strong under acceleration and relatively subdued at a steady speed.
Who it's for
Comparison: A version without a muffler may have a slightly higher performance ceiling, but it is much louder and less comfortable for long drives. The muffler-equipped version balances performance and ride comfort, making it a popular choice for a complete turbo-back upgrade.
| Category | Stock DPF | SuncentAuto 4-Inch Turbo-Back DPF Delete with Muffler |
|---|---|---|
| Exhaust backpressure | The DPF creates significant backpressure and restricts exhaust flow. | Removing the DPF and using large 4-inch pipes creates a more direct flow path and significantly reduces backpressure. |
| Turbo response | Noticeable lag creates a delay between throttle input and power delivery. | Turbo spool is more responsive, with a more direct throttle response. |
| EGT (heavy load/towing) | Backpressure raises EGT, increasing heat load on long climbs or under heavy loads. | Reduced backpressure can lower EGT and may benefit long-term engine health. |
| Fuel economy (reported figures) | Approximately 13–14 mpg when the DPF is clogged. | Approximately 18–19 mpg after a DPF delete, depending on vehicle condition and tune. |
| Sound | The factory muffler and DPF together keep the exhaust quiet and subdued. | With muffler: deeper than stock, with no highway drone; noticeably stronger but controlled at wide-open throttle. |
Note: Performance improvements require a compatible ECU tune. Installing the hardware alone may not deliver all of the results described above.
* 45-day return window.
Note: T-409 may develop surface oxidation under normal use. This is a normal characteristic of 409 stainless steel and does not indicate functional failure.
Before Installation
Tune Before Starting
After the DPF is removed, the factory ECM software still monitors the DPF, initiates regeneration, and expects the related sensors to operate normally. If you install only the pipe without a delete tune, the vehicle may start, but the Check Engine Light will remain on. The ECM may repeatedly attempt regeneration that cannot be completed, and the vehicle may enter limp mode or experience degraded drivability.
The correct sequence is to confirm and complete the tuning plan first, then start the vehicle for the first time with the delete tune in place. The pipe is hardware; the tune is software. Both are required.
The SuncentAuto product page offers a Tuner Type option. We recommend confirming a compatible tune option when adding the exhaust system to your cart. If you purchase the pipe separately without a tune, make sure you understand the associated CEL and drivability risks.
The rule of thumb: tune first, start later.
