No. This kit is a hardware Delete Kit (DPF delete exhaust pipe + EGR delete + Downpipe). After deleting emissions hardware on the L5P, ECU tuning is required for normal operation. You can separately purchase software/hardware tuning solutions such as EZ Lynk that support L5P delete tuning. Some tuning solutions require ECU unlocking first.

As long as you flash the ECU with a reliable L5P delete-specific tuning solution after installing the hardware, there will be no Check Engine Light or torque limit mode. If you only install the hardware without tuning, there is a 99% chance it will trigger a light and enter torque-limit protection mode.

Medium to high difficulty. If you or your technician frequently works on diesel exhaust system modifications, it can be completed within 4–6 hours. However, the ECU tuning portion of the L5P is recommended to be completed by a professional diesel tuning shop, especially when ECU unlocking and writing dedicated tuning files are involved.

If you only delete the DPF but keep the EGR, some soot will still be carried back into the intake tract by the EGR, so the intake carbon buildup problem cannot be solved. If you only delete the EGR but keep the DPF, DPF clogging and regeneration loss still remain. With the three systems working together, only deleting DPF + EGR + tuning at the same time can fundamentally eliminate the failure risks of the three major emissions systems and optimize performance release.
